Hello and welcome! My name is Heather and this is my blog journal for losing weight. I've always considered myself "fat," even when I was 130lbs. Crazy isn't it! We girls are so hard on ourselves, but I think that's pretty normal. When I was in highschool, I maintained a fairly healthy weight of 130-140lbs...even though I thought I was grossly obese... But anyway, once I started college everyone told me I would gain the "freshman 15." Well they were wrong...I didn't gain the Freshman 15....I gained the Freshman 50!!!! I always blamed my roommate for shrinking my clothes when we would do laundry together. Little did I know I should have been blaming Ben & Jerry's. I am like every other person on this globe and eat my feelings. When I'm happy, I eat...sad, eat...excited, eat...you get the idea. I finally was getting my weight under control again in 2006 and weighed approx 160lbs..That was the year I moved from my little town in Indiana to Kansas City. Since I've moved out here I've been in a new job, new house, new husband, and new baby....and a new 90lbs heavier. Some call it happy fat, but it's not making me too happy...OH..by the way...I'm only 5ft 6in tall....and weigh as much as my 6ft 7in husband.. NOT A HAPPY CAMPER!
I love my family and want to be healthy for myself and for them...especially my baby boy :) (photo taken by the amazing Jenn Hunter Photography)
Today I ordered Shakeology. I have heard good things and a friend of mine is using it as well. I know there's no miracle weight loss pill or drink, but I do know that certain vitamins and minerals will help me boost my energy. I'm hoping this gives me the push I need to get this started. I don't believe in dieting. I like food...quite a bit actually. But I need to learn control. That's what got me into this fat person to begin with...loss of control of how much and how often I need to eat. Food is fuel..not comfort. As many people have, I have been addicted to Pinterest. While many of the yummy recipes are enticing..and yes, I have pinned...I have also come across many mini-work outs and shake recipes. So while I have the motivation I'm going to do this. So stay tuned for more updates and photos!
Here's me back in the thinner days :)
